There were so many activities on Saturday at the Winmalee Family Fun Day, it was hard to know where to start.
Hundreds of families from Winmalee, Hawkesbury Heights, Yellow Rock and Springwood brightened the mood following a difficult day for many only the day before - the one-year anniversary of the Blue Mountains bushfires.
Children played cricket, Aussie Rules and softball on the Winmalee High School oval, bounced on jumping castles, visited a farm animal petting zoo, climbed into fire trucks and had their faces painted.
For the adults there was music by the Live at the Village Trio, dance performances in the school hall, Devonshire teas and market and bushfire safety information stalls.
And local Salvation Army and Lions Club volunteers cooked sausages all afternoon to ensure nobody went hungry.
The theme of the day was "12 months on and still going strong."
