In July a new junior football program is being launched at the Tom Hunter Park in Faulconbridge.
The program aims to offer young players, aged six to 12, the opportunity to train with the Football Development Australia (FDA) coaching team at a Mountains location.
The program will give young players the chance to fine-tune their skills at the midway point of the winter football season via some well-structured skills and small sided games training sessions.
Players will work on juggling, passing, dribbling and shooting and then enjoy bringing everything together in a series of mini tournaments.
Football Development Australia director, Cormac Begley, is really looking forward to working with players in the Blue Mountains.
."Players and families have been travelling to attend our school holiday and academy programs from the Blue Mountains region for years. This July will be a great chance to work with more young players in a region that is very passionate about its football," he said.
Blue Mountains-based FDA coach, Georgia King, sees the July school holiday FDA football camps as an opportunity to enjoy a different type of football training.
"At the FDA programs we really enjoy connecting with the junior players. We challenge them throughout each session and always make sure to have fun and enjoy our football.
"Our aim at FDA is to provide ongoing youth coaching for young players in this region so that they can benefit from professional training locally throughout the football season," she said.
