Penrith never looked comfortable in the one-sided game, with veteran WNBL guard Alicia Poto the only player to reach double figures.
The Panthers were admittedly short-handed, with point guard Tahlia Tupaea in Russia at the Under 19 World Championships and towering rookie Ashling O'Doherty (Katoomba) having left the program to take up her scholarship in the US.
With Dominika Offner (Springwood) back from injury and promising rookies Natalia Beaumont (Emu Heights) and Binta Salawu both suiting up on the night, the Panthers were at least able to field nine players.
Sutherland started the game strongly and hit nearly everything in the opening two quarters, racing away to lead 27-11 in the first quarter and 56-23 at half time. There would be no way back for the Panthers, as the Sharks relished the opportunity to run up an impressive score in front of their home fans, leading 89-37 at the end of the third quarter before cruising home to a crushing 49-point win.
While everyone except Poto struggled to put points on the board, five separate Sutherland players hit double figures - including three off the bench.
The Sharks now move through to finals weekend at Sutherland on August 1-2, joining the Bankstown Bruins, Northern Suburbs Bears and Newcastle Hunters in the semi-finals.
