The next Glenbrook Farmers and Craft Markets will be held this Saturday, September 19.
The regular markets have become a popular a real life 'food adventure', drawing patrons from neighbouring cities and towns.
Tourist buses are now targeting the Glenbrook Markets on the first (Farmers and Fine Food) and third (Farmers and Craft) Saturdays of each month.
The Farmers and Craft Market on the third Saturday features a list of exotic food booths booked in each month. Stalls include: Le Petit Chalet - Swiss food; Karen Seymour - fruit drinks; Johan Audibert of Gourmandie de Paris - French crepes; shepherd's bread; Kelsang Tashi - Nepalese food; Jacqui Behnke - Coco Bakery cakes; Denis Kahrilas - smoked salmon; Hillbilly Cider; Debbie Lujon - Italian cuisine; John Reynolds - fruit and vegetables; Aziz Odemir - Turkish gozleme; Phil Storey - lollies; Wayne Kirk - bagels; Ralph Sawyer - fruit and vegetables; Steve Camilleri - strawberries; Christine Abbott - cakes and cookies; Carol Croft - sauces and chutney; Genevieve Craig - Blue Mountains Honey.
However, if the attraction of food is not sufficient, the Farmers and Craft Market provides an excellent opportunity for a 'fun' family outing.
Clothes, jewellery, craft, coffee and a traditional Aussie barbecue make up the perfect bush picnic atmosphere rounded off by one of the best easy listening bands to be found west of Sydney - the Little Black Ducks.
The Little Black Ducks is a band of veteran local musicians who love to entertain with melodies from the early 20th century.
The regular Glenbrook markets are just one of many ways in which Lower Blue Mountains Rotary connect with the community. An enthusiastic, community minded group of almost 60 men and women, the Rotary club believes in having a great time whilst doing good work.
The markets are held at the Glenbrook Infants School grounds, Ross Street, Glenbrook from 8am-2pm.
