Mr Bray, from Katoomba, has recently been employed at FoodBoss at Penrith, a cold storage and transport facility.
It’s only the second job the 31-year-old has had and he plans on making the most of his traineeship.
Mr Bray was employed as part of the Nova Employment 100 jobs in 100 days program, where the agency aims to find jobs for 100 of its disabled clients.
FoodBoss office administrator. Robyn Gibson, said the family-run business was delighted with Mr Bray’s first month on the job.
“”We made sure that Jeremy’s skills were good enough and also his personality in meeting the customers and meeting our representatives.
“We’re really thrilled with Jeremy – he’s a perfect fit with our company and our staff and customers.”
Mr Bray said the job, which involves transporting frozen food all over Sydney, was “a challenge but I’m always up for it” – even when he has to get up at 3.30am to make his 5am shift.
Nova’s Peter Welling said the people at FoodBoss had been terrific for Mr Bray.
“Jeremy had a licence but no experience. We talked to them [FoodBoss] about a casual position but they saw more in it and gave him a full-time traineeship.
“They said they would look after him and they’ve certainly done that,” he said.
