They want toys for children of all ages – particularly teenagers who often can be overlooked. Just drop the gift into the box and try to mark whether it’s best for a boy or girl and the general age group.
The Salvos distribute their hampers on December 17 so try to get in before that. But late gifts will also be accepted and given to families who would otherwise not have such a happy Christmas.
Springwood Neighbourhood Centre is running a Christmas Food Appeal, where food packages can be sponsored for $15 or more to help vulnerable families enjoy something special at Christmas time.
Drop into the Centre (located on the ground floor of The Hub building on Macquarie Road) until December 18 to find out more or make a donation. Food can also be donated at the Centre, but also at the donation bin located at Springwood Lloyds Supa IGA.
