Springwood Cricket Club match reports

Springwood first grade continued their good start to the 2015/16 season with a very good win against Panthers ( 2 ) The Springwood Club had a number of regular first graders unavailable for this game. This provided an opportunity for younger players and they all performed very well to hand Springwood a solid first innings win. Being sent into bat Springwood amassed 9/157. Dean Watkins scored 41, Doug Rodgers 33 and Matt Johnston 35. In replay Panthers were bowled out  for 103 with Matt Johnson talking 3/36, Dean Watkins 3/15 and Mick Ross 2/14. Although an hour was lost on the second day due to rain both teams tried hard to create an outright. Springwood declared its second innings at 4/74 with Mick Ross making a hard hitting 44 off 18 balls and in reply Panthers made 2/92.

Springwood Adamson U/13  vs  Springwood Stanford U/13.

The recent round 10 clash saw the two Springwood Under 13 teams clash. Springwood Adamson batted first and were dismissed for 139. Max Becker made 57 and was support in solid partnerships with Adam Regent and Liam Bayliss. There were strong bowling performances from Springwood Stanford  including Dean Twomey 3/12, Matt Ward 2/4, and Jack Kuypers 2/16. Springwood Stanford  then went into bat and were keeping pace with the required run rate. Eli Little made 23 not out and seemed to be steering Stanford to a victory but a great bowling performance late from Ethan Powell 4/7 and wickets from Chris Collis, Brenna Tarrant and Matt Hill secured the match for Adamson keeping Stanford to 102 off their 40 overs.
