Held in Mudgee from June 9-13, Jessie-Rose shot well in the young adult freestyle unlimited division.
On one of the 28-target days, the 17-year-old St Columba's student achieved almost a perfect score – in the bullseye for 27 targets.
Her dad, Jeremy Cooke, said it was a busy period for the teenager, who as well as training for the upcoming world championships, was also holding down a part-time job and was in her HSC year.
His son, Jye, aged 11, is following in his sister’s footsteps.
Jye placing fourth overall in the cub boys freestyle unlimited division for under 13s.
“The start was a bit rough with the first day hampered by heavy rain and wind, but they both got into the swing of things on Friday with over 200 other archers that have travelled from all corners of the country to shoot the five-day event,” Mr Cooke said.
“The steepness of the terrain and the wind and rain made it very tough conditions, and each shooter had to shoot over 112 arrows per day, making it a real test in endurance.”
Both kids are part of the Lithgow Valley Archers club.
