The lush green reserve behind Woodford Academy was turned into a sea of red on Saturday when an estimated 200 people recreated the video for Kate Bush's 1978 hit song Wuthering Heights.
Men, women and children of all ages – and even a dog – channelled the spirit of the iconic British singer.
Blue Mountains MP Trish Doyle and Cr Annette Bennett were among those taking part.
The event was one of a series of re-enactments around the world, from Hobart to Tel Aviv, to mark The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever.
Tim Filson and Helen Balaam travelled from Wollongong to take part in the Blue Mountains event and said it was “great fun”.
“We have watched the film clip at home a few times [to practise],” said Ms Balaam.
Wentworth Falls dance teacher Georgina Khoo, from Shine Dance School, took participants through the steps ahead of the official performance – but the emphasis was definitely on fun.
Organiser Miriam Williamson said she “couldn’t have been more thrilled” with the success of the event.
“I’m just so impressed with the community and the people who have traveled from afar to take part,” she said.
Plans are already underway to make the re-enactment an annual event on the Blue Mountains calendar.
