Springwood High School student Jackson Sharp secured two victories at the Combined High Schools State Athletics Championships in Homebush last week.
Jackson won the 16 years 800m title in 1.58.01, more than six seconds ahead of the second-placed competitor. He also won the 1500m final in 4.12.73 and came fourth in the 400m.
The meet continued a run of good form for the 16-year-old from Wentworth Falls. He finished in 11th place in the U18s at the All Schools National Cross Country Championships in Canberra last month, a result that saw him placed second in his 16 years age group.
Jackson was also part of the gold-medal winning NSW team at the cross country championships.
Another Springwood High School student, Luke Simson, competed in the meet, finishing 21st in the 71 strong field.
Jackson competed at the Australian Junior Athletics Championships in Perth in March, claiming a silver medal in the 1500m. He came fifth in the 800m.
