The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Communications and the Arts has received an inquiry into the Australian Film and Television Industry and is calling for submissions on Factors contributing to the growth and sustainability of the Australian film and television industry.
Federal MP Susan Templeman, a member of the Committee holding the inquiry, said she’s keen to see a large number of submissions from local independent film and TV industry participants.
“We know how many creatives there are in the Blue Mountains and I think it’s important all those voices are heard as part of this Inquiry.
“I’m really pleased to see the BMEE play such a pivotal role in bringing together people to identify whatever the key issues are that would help boost the film and TV industry locally.
“Everyone who works in the arts sector knows how tough access to support and funding is at the moment. So it would be great to hear what the biggest impediments are and what ideas there are to ensure the industry flourishes and provides strong employment for everyone from set designers, costume makers, actors and technicians.
“Putting in a submission is really easy – it’s online and can be as simple as a few paragraphs or as detailed as you like.”
Submissions are being sought by Friday, March 31, and can be made online through the webpage:www.aph.gov.au/FilmTV or emailed to the secretariat at communications.reps@aph.gov.au.
