Blaxland is the place to be from 9am-2pm on Saturday, May 13 when the town honours the adventurous spirit of its namesake, Gregory Blaxland, by hosting an annual street festival.
Proudly presented by Blaxland and Districts Chamber of Commerce, the sixth annual Blaxland Explorers’ Day will see the paved Station Street pedestrian mall - between the highway and Hope Street – filled with market stalls, food from local businesses, music and lots of gift ideas.
Blaxland High School will present The Billies vocal group, their ukulele group, Bhukelective, senior vocal groups, Year 10 boys band, soloists and duets from 10am. The Blaxland Chamber thanks David Leishman from Blaxland High School in Blaxland for organising these performances and donating all production equipment.
“Our usual fantastic stallholders from the Blaxland Markets will be there where you can pick up some wonderful presents just in time for mum for Mother’s Day,” said festival spokeswoman, Sandra Morey.
“There will be a variety of craft, jewellery, clothes, lollies, soaps, candles and much, much more. Come and support our local businesses and rediscover Blaxland.”
