A fight got out of hand at the Blaxland Tavern on June 29 when a Warrimoo man was threatened with a machete.
“A 20-year-old male from Faulconbridge has produced a machete, and made unprovoked threats of harm to a 27-year-old Warrimoo male prior to being escorted from the premises,” said Blue Mountains Police local area command Detective Chief Inspector Dietmar Almer.
The Faulconbridge man then returned to the premises in an attempt to carry out an assault on the victim, once again being removed from the pub, police allege.
The man was charged with armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, affray, and drive a motor vehicle while suspended.
Injured bushwalker
Police Rescue and paramedics assisted a bushwalker suffering chest pains at the base of the Giant Stairway in Katoomba on June 27.
Following medical assessment the 48-year-old man was able to walk and be transported by cable cart for further assessment by paramedics waiting at Scenic World.
Mt Boyce accident
A Lithgow man was airlifted to hospital suffering chest pain after a serious motor vehicle accident at Mt Boyce on June 29.
“A silver Holden Commodore, being driven by a 31-year-old Lithgow male has come over a slight crest and collided with a Mitsubishi Magna travelling in the same direction,” Chief Inspector Almer said.
The impact pushed the Magna an extensive distance, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles.
The occupants of the Magna, aged 74 and 78, were assessed at the scene and cleared of any injury.
Police investigations are continuing.
