The pocket park on Macquarie Road in Springwood is undergoing a makeover.
Situated near the Telstra building, the bus stop and opposite The Bunker, the little park could easily be missed but is a popular lunch spot.
One of the bench seats in the park, which Blue Mountains City Council rents from Telstra, will be raised due to the rain forming in a puddle under the bench.
The bench seat will be returned when the concrete pad has been installed within the next two weeks, a council spokeswoman said.
Other work includes asphalting of the area of bare ground where high pedestrian wear and tear means the grass will never grow due to soil compaction.
“Two aged trees were removed from the front to improve natural surveillance/views into the park and increase the prospects for grass to grow in the park,” the spokeswoman said.
A picnic table will also be added, screen planting around the edge of the park, and grass regeneration.
