Blue Mountains photographer Ian Brown is exhibiting his first monochrome collection this month in Blackheath.
The Edge of Light features dramatic images from the Blue Mountains, New Zealand, Greenland, western Tasmania, far north Queensland and other wild places. Most of these landscapes are on the World Heritage list.
The photographs often contrast similar features from wildly different environments.
Brown said the images had been selected from regions where he had felt a strong connection, after extended sojourns or repeated visits over many years.
“These are some of the scenes that have inspired me, from places of value beyond measure,” he said.
The exhibition is on until December 31 at the NPWS Blue Mountains Heritage Centre, end of Govetts Leap Road, Blackheath (partly unavailable 18-22 December, call 4787 8877 to check).
