Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa has been named one of the top Australian hotels in the 2018 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
The travel and booking site awards celebrate the best hotels across Australia, as well as the top hotels across the B&B, budget, romance and luxury categories, and family-friendly hotels across the South Pacific region.
Winners of TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice awards for top destinations were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels in Australia over a 12-month period.
The Wolgan Valley resort scored the fifth spot in the top hotels list as well as the top five spot in the luxury hotels section.
Taking out the number one spot in the top hotels list was family-run Pinetrees Lodge on Lord Howe Island – their second consecutive year as the top hotel in Australia, while COMO the Treasury in Perth and Sydney’s Ovolo Woolloomooloo came in second and third respectively. Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley came in fifth after the Aqua Resort in Busselton,Western Australia.
“From island resorts, heritage hotels to secluded country boltholes, the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards highlights the best accommodation Australia has to offer,” said Grant Colquhoun, TripAdvisor spokesman.
“These winners are recognised for remarkable service, value and quality and offer great hotel inspiration to travellers looking to plan their 2018 getaways on TripAdvisor.”
Reviews for the Wolgan Valley resort called it: “Outstanding property, hands-down the best luxury accommodation experience we have had to date” and the “ultimate luxury weekend”. An overnight stay at the secluded five star resort, which also boasts a stable of 19 horses, costs about $2,100.
The resort is on a restored farming property. The villas are located between national parks Wollemi and The Gardens of Stone, home to plenty of native wildlife including wombats, wallabies and kangaroos. The hotel offers archery, horse riding, a mini ranger program and mountain bike rides amongst the jaw dropping cliffs.
