Hawkesbury Road accident on March 13, multiple vehicles involved

UPDATE (7.08pm):

There are still heavy traffic conditions on Hawkesbury Road, nearly three hours after a major accident occurred.

A three-vehicle accident occurred near Springwood at about 4.25pm on Tuesday.

The Crash Investigation Unit is now on site, along with emergency services and RMS personnel.

A contra flow operation remains in place to allow traffic to pass in both directions.

5.21pm:

Hawkesbury Road has now been partially re-opened following a major accident on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred near Springwood at about 4.25pm.

The road was closed in both directions for some time following the incident.

However, northbound and southbound motorists can now pass through, with a contra flow now in place.

Traffic is heavy on Hawkesbury Road and motorists should expect delays.

5.01pm:

Hawkesbury Road has been closed in both directions following a multi-vehicle accident near Springwood on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at about 4.25pm on March 13, near Patersons Road.

Emergency services and RMS personnel are at the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area on Tuesday afternoon.
