Described by Musica Viva as “Australia’s most internationally successful piano trio”, the Streeton Trio will be performing at the Blue Mountains Concert Society's next concert at the Blue Mountains Theatre on Saturday, May 5 at 7.30pm
The members of Streeton Trio are Emma Jardine (violin), Meta Weiss (cello) and Benjamin Kopp (piano). They have studied intensively with the world's leading chamber musicians, won scholarships and been laureate of several prestigious international competitions.
The trio has performed extensively all over the world to great acclaim and their music is broadcast frequently across Australia on various radio stations. In 2017 they were the Fine Music 102.5FM artists in residence.
Hailing from the Blue Mountains, Kopp has performed as soloist with Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Western Australian Symphony Orchestras.
Jardine has been engaged as guest principal with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and also performed with the Melbourne and West Australian Symphony Orchestras.
Weiss’ performances have been in venues throughout the US and internationally, including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Boston Symphony Hall, The Kimmel Center, Royal Albert Hall, and Teatro Britanico (Peru).
Streeton Trio will be performing works by Johannes Brahms - Piano Trio in C minor Op.101, Franz Schubert - Notturno D 989 and Antonin Dvorak - Piano Trio in F minor Op. 65. It promises to be an excellent evening of fine chamber music.
