Hundreds gathered to pay their respects to veterans and serving personnel at the Springwood RSL sub-branch Anzac Day dawn service.
Sub-branch president Jim McKinnon presided over the 6am service while Salvation Army Chaplain Keith Greenaway delivered the address.
The Salvation Army band played The Last Post and national anthems, God Save the Queen, God Defend New Zealand and Advance Australia Fair.
Members of the 323 Squadron Australian Air Force Cadets were the catafalque party.
Springwood’s Anzac Day march will be held at 10.30am, starting at the Post Office and finishing at the cenotaph in Macquarie Road where the service and wreath laying ceremony will start at 10.50am.
A luncheon will be held at Springwood Sports Club following the main service.
There will also be a sunset service at Springwood Cenotaph at 4.45pm.
