Take in the seasonal colours and listen to live music when you visit an open garden at Yellow Rock this Sunday, thanks to the Rotary Club of Springwood Inc.
The garden at 35 Purvines Rd is an acreage sized garden designed to replicate the landscape styles of years gone by. Low dry rock walls, sandstone paved paths and courtyards, gravel driveways, timber pergolas , tea houses, ferneries , and cottage gardens embellish the old world country garden theme while an Asian inspired garden extension, decorative features, wisteria colonnade and extensive water features add interest.
It was once a segment of the old Purvine farm, where in the 1950s and 1960s the land was used for passionfruit growing. This parcel of land now is part of a semi rural location where gardens and bushland valley backdrops provide tranquil surroundings.
Enjoy the changing colours of the garden while listening to the impressive performances of some of the Mountains’ talented young musicians. Senior students from five high schools will perform throughout the afternoon, including small group and vocal choral ensembles, stage and jazz bands .
Bring a picnic lunch and your own refreshments.
