Fine Flowers in Katoomba has been serving generations of families in the greater Blue Mountains for more than 32 years. Now in its third generation of ownership, many people have visited the shop as a child with their parents, again as an adult, and eventually having flowers for their wedding provided by Pam Harman and her team.
One such couple is current owners Bart and Ruth Mascorella, who purchased the business a year ago, with Pam staying on as manager. “I moved to Katoomba 20 years ago, first meeting Pam when she arranged the flowers for our wedding,” Mr Mascorella said. “I had no idea that one day Ruth and I would have the opportunity to buy such an iconic business.”
Mrs Harman owned the business for more than 10 years, working with and eventually buying the business from Vicki Sproule, who established Fine Flowers in 1985. Mrs Harman was instrumental in its growth and popularity, the shop an integral part of the community for several generations. “We have been very blessed with the fantastic support over the years,” she said. “I really hope we can continue to give back to our customers, our friends, and say thank you.”
“I’m very privileged to continue the great tradition of quality and community service with Fine Flowers while expanding our coverage and modernising our offerings,” Mr Mascorella said. “I hope that all our customers will love our new space at 131 Katoomba Street as much as we do and join us in celebrating our first year in the new shop.”
