Pink and yellow dominate Randwick fashion

Celebrity Milliner Viktoria Novak, who will judge The Everest fashion competition next weekend, had been waiting for an excuse to wear her beloved Dolce & Gabbana dress featuring big, pink roses.

Novak completed the look with sparkly shoes, glamorous earrings and a crown she made herself with matching flowers and metal work.

"If you are going for drama you just need to go all out," she said.

"I feel better than I did on my wedding day!"

Novak said no one should be afraid to make bold choices with their racing fashion.

"I think going to the races is like being in a production when you go you're on show. Treat it like you're actually on stage and really just have fun with it."

Treating the track like the stage isn't a far cry from DJ Mollie Rose's approach to her Spring racing outfit.

The songwriter rocked her hot pink hair with a one shoulder, puff sleeve top and metallic pants by Sydney designer Mariam Seddiq.

"I love going a bit out there, obviously, as I have got the pink hair," she told AAP.

"You don't get to go the races that often so when you do you need to take advantage of it."

Bucking the pink trend, blogger and fashion judge Nikki Phillips stunned in a yellow, custom made Manning Cartell suit, with the lining inspired by the jockey silks of Australian thoroughbred Kingston Town.

She accessorised with a matching Nerida Winter yellow bow, a Furla baby pink mini handbag and strappy, red heels.

"I know some people might be thinking why is she rocking a pink handbag but I think colour blocking is so on trend," she said.

"Yellow's very on trend and I think the mix of three colours you wouldn't place together being the yellow, the red and the pink - I think it works."

The suit will be auctioned off for Dress For Success, a charity providing professional clothes for women seeking employment.
