Blue Mountains fighters will be among those taking on the region’s best in the upcoming West Region Fight Night event at Lithgow.
“This is our first Pro Am card and definitely some of the most exciting fights we have ever had matched,” said promoter Paul Traish.
“The Blue Mountains is well represented on this card with Sam Traish, Pete Gallagher, Alex Byles and Brendan Sayers all fighting out of Blue Mountains Martial Arts Centre at Leura. Personal trainer Will Hunt, from Plus Fitness Katoomba, fights out of Mountain Fight Club Blackheath.”
The fifth West Region Fight Night show will feature 10 fights including two title fights.
The first WRFN title up for grabs is the amateur lightweight belt between undefeated “Pistol” Pete Gallagher from Blue Mountains Martial Arts Centre and Aidan Nowfel from Kings Academy in Sydney.
Lithgow’s Thrive MMA Blake Sheppeard will take on seasoned fighter Mo Abu Naim from Lions Den Gym in Sydney for the professional light heavyweight belt.
The boys from the Mountains have been training hard in preparation for the upcoming battles. Blue Mountains Martial Arts Centre head coach Chris Traish said “the amount of work these athletes put into their fight preparation is nothing short of astonishing”.
“It would be fantastic to see a good following of Mountains folk make the short trip to Lithgow to cheer on the guys.”
The event will take place in the Civic Ballroom at Lithgow Showground on Saturday, November 3. Doors open at 6pm with the action getting underway at 7pm. On top of the bouts there will be live music and dance performances as part of the entertainment. There is a licensed bar, sausage sizzle and snack bar available. The evening will also raise funds for Lithgow charity, Doggo’s Fight.
Tickets can be purchased from Blue Mountains Martial Arts Centre 114 Mount Street, Leura or contact Paul Traish 0448 474 837.
