Graham Ross, star of Channel Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens and 2GB radio’s weekend Garden Clinic, has been appointed Australia Day Ambassador for the Blue Mountains.
The garden guru shares his passion for all things green and growing with more than two million people every week.
He is Australia’s most acclaimed horticulturist – being presented with the prestigious Gold Veitch Memorial Medal (VMM) by the Royal Horticultural Society in London in 2011. He is the only Australian to ever receive the award which was created by Queen Victoria in 1870.
Ross was made a Life Fellow of the prestigious Royal Botanic Gardens Kew Guild in 2013 and has won countless other awards including 12 Logies for the Better Homes and Gardens television show.
Ross runs the family gardening business with his wife Sandra and children, Linda and Kent. They have published numerous gardening publications. The Homes and Gardens television show is now in its 21st year and 850th episode while the three-hour Garden Show on 2GB, now in its 35 year, is one of the longest running radio programs in Australia.
As in past years, the Blue Mountains Ambassador will share his time between Australia Day events in Glenbrook, Springwood and Katoomba.
