Drugs charges
A Hazelbrook man faces a raft of charges following a lengthy Blue Mountains Police investigation.
The 35-year-old man has been charged with supplying prohibited drugs, armed robbery, perverting the course of justice and participating in a criminal group.
Detectives searched a house in Valley Rd, Hazelbrook on February 4, where they allegedly found the drug ice, as well as other drugs.
Further charges are expected and more arrests are imminent, Det Insp Element said. The man will appear in Penrith Court on March 1.
Knife threat
Plain clothes police officers were allegedly threatened by a knife-wielding man while patrolling Katoomba at 1pm on February 8.
Police approached one of three men, a 37-year-old from Hebersham, as he walked in Lurline Street.
“Whilst speaking with him it is alleged he produced a large knife from his backpack and threatened the police officers with it,” Det Insp Element said. “The officers drew their firearms and ordered the man to drop the knife, however he refused and ran from the location.”
Police pursued the man, before he allegedly obtained a second knife from his bag and threatened the officers.
They drew their firearms and capsicum spray was used to subdue him. He faces several charges including using a weapon to avoid apprehension and assault.
Imitation rifle
A home-made replica rifle was found in bushland in Armstrong St at Wentworth Falls on Saturday morning.
“On police attendance it was established that it appeared to be a home-made replica rifle that had been discarded there for some time,” Det Insp Element said.
