Daniel Champagne is back in the Mountains.
This young Nashville based virtuoso, recently described as the finest guitar player of this generation, has been selling out shows around the world and now brings his tour back home to Australia playing an intimate Blue Mountains show on June 1.
Themusic.com.au wrote of him: "Daniel Champagne exudes a natural ease on stage, as he sings poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that invariably whisk the heart up with grand romanticism. Coupled with an exhilarating guitar talent that transcends mere acoustic playing to replicate a whole band, Champagne is just magical."
The Calgary Herald in Canada said: "The word prodigy seems to entirely fall short of this soft-spoken young man's skills. He coaxes sounds and melodies out of his instrument that literally drop jaws."
Champagne fuses the strong traditions of blues, folk and other roots are with pop showmanship.
He is a true prodigy who plays as though he has spent at least two lifetimes studying the guitar art.
He exudes a natural ease on stage, singing poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that invariably whisk the heart up with grand romanticism.
Champagne's special guest is Chris Gillespie, an independent artist from the Mountains, described as "a fingerpickin', harmonica-playing troubadour... Sydney's answer to Bob Dylan" by Dave Regos on FBi radio.
Gillespie is loved for his songwriting craft, especially his lyrics.
This music is very Australian, highly original and delivered with refreshing honesty and integrity.
