String trio Three Piece Suite with flautist James Fortune returns to the Blackheath Presbyterian Church to present a home-grown feast on Sunday, September 15, at 3pm.
Rachel Westwood (violin), Valmai Coggins (viola) and Deborah Coogan (cello) are delighted to convene again in Blackheath with their regular guest, Fortune, and look forward to sharing a sustainable, dinky-di, mostly Australian* themed program which includes selections for flute and strings by Percy Grainger, Graham Powning, Margaret Sutherland, David Hush, Sarah Hopkins, Alice Chance, Gregory van der Struik and Caspar Kummer.
The program promises to include plenty of humour and energy with moments of quieter reflection, perfect for a spring afternoon in the inspiring setting and intimate acoustics of the Presbyterian Church on beautiful Wentworth Street. Stay tuned as there may be a hot off the press world premiere. Afterwards stay to meet the musicians over a locally made/low food miles afternoon tea. For great chamber music, think local, act local.
