Solemn services were held up and down the Mountains today to mark Remembrance Day.
At Katoomba, the newly rebuilt club hosted its first service since it opened in August, more than two years after the 2017 fire which destroyed the old building.
The sub branch president, Rick Tasker, reminded those present of the supreme sacrifice paid by the more than 60,000 Australians who did not return home, before Ray Robinson, from St Hilda's, read a prayer.
Sixteen-year-old bugler Jim Schoeler, who has been playing at Katoomba services since he was in Year 5, played The Last Post as the Australian flag was lowered.
Services were also held in Mt Victoria, Blackheath, Wentworth Falls, Lawson, Springwood and Glenbrook, which covers the Blaxland-Glenbrook sub branch.
