Federal MP for Macquarie Susan Templeman has congratulated a unique Blue Mountains-owned business featured at an Indigenous business event at Parliament House in Canberra this month.
The ReViViFY program is operated by Wentworth Falls-based Indigenous speaker, coach and trainer, Anny Druett, and was among 80 businesses showcased at the Supply Nation event on February 11.
Supply Nation operates the country's leading database of verified Indigenous businesses, and the event featured a range of businesses from travel and tourism to cleaning, education and training, legal services and recruitment.
The ReViViFY program assists Aboriginal staff working in a range of sectors to reconnect with their cultural, personal and professional selves. Ms Druett said the trade fair presented her with the opportunity to shine a light on her unique service.
"It was a brilliant opportunity to hook up with other Indigenous businesses and to do some networking," she said.
"I got affirmation from people hearing my pitch and saying my service was valuable. It's important for Aboriginal men and women walking between two cultures."
Ms Templeman said she was delighted to see several businesses from the electorate featured.
"In the week that the Closing the Gap report was released, it was wonderful to see successful local Aboriginal businesses in the spotlight and this trade fair was a fantastic opportunity to showcase what we've got to offer.
"I enjoyed meeting and speaking with Indigenous business owners from all over the country and congratulate Anny in particular for being a part of this special event."
