Free meals for the homeless and hungry are about to resume at Junction 142 in Katoomba, thanks to Bendigo Bank and Central Blue Mountains Rotary.
The two not-for-profits have banded together, offering cash and volunteers.
The service was halted because of the coronavirus pandemic, as had the free showers and laundry faciilities provided by Earth Recovery Australia at the Katoomba Street site (behind the Uniting Chuch).
The showers and laundry have now resumed after council stepped in with funds to pay for the extra cleaning required between each use.
And Bendigo and Rotary have moved to get the kitchen up and running again, which should be happening by next Wednesday (May 20).
Justin Morrissey, from Earth Recovery, said the extra cash will go towards buying sanitiser and face masks which were needed to start the food service again.
Jennifer Scott, from Central BM Rotary, said some of the club's members would help collect food from local shops, prepare the meals and hand them out.
Peter Carroll, chairman of Bendigo Bank's sponsorship committee, said the bank was happy to help.
"We've actually put some of our sponsorships on hold so we can jump in and provide this money," he said. "It's just so important at this time to give support to people who are finding it very, very tough."
Cr Kevin Schreiber, is a member of Rotary, said: "Having two not-for-profits helping a third not-for-profit - it really shows how much it's about community."
