Blackheath artist Jane Stapleford will exhibit Creatures Posing at Day Gallery during September.
For Stapleford, creatures have always posed for her in her mind.
"They latch onto me with their eyes and images start to form. I see them not just in their native environment, but can easily be transported to the far off lands that have populated my imagination since I was a little girl."
In this exhibition, Stapleford represents a cross-section of those environments that have been foremost in her mind over the last year. Being restricted to home most of the time, her imagined spaces have become more intimate on the whole (with the exception of the odd swashbuckling monkey).
At Day Gallery, 27-29 Govetts Leap Rd, Blackheath. Open Fri 11am-4pm, Sat-Sun 10am-5pm.
