Blake Forrester, better known by his wrestling name of Banjo Powers, won the Wrestle Strong Dojo Junior Heavyweight championship in Penrith on September 20.
Powers defeated former champion Ryan Miller to take the title.
The wrestler grew up in Warrimoo and Faulconbridge and he now lives in Penrith where he trains regularly at the Wrestle Strong Dojo.
"I feel accomplished, I've trained really hard, I'm in the dojo three times a week and at the gym five days a week while working a full time day job," said Powers,"so it's nice when all the hard work pays off."
Wrestling for three years now, Powers has come up against a lot of tough opponents across NSW, including at Blue Mountains Pro Wrestling.
It will be no different on November 1 in Penrith when he faces the heavyweight champion and martial art expert Adam Facaa.
Tickets are available from wrestlestrongdojo.com.au or watch matches on www.Fite.TV every Sunday at 9pm.
