Several people have been injured in Albania in a protest sparked by a police shooting of a 25-year-old man a day earlier.
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in central Tirana on Wednesday in spite of a coronavirus-related curfew, with some throwing flares and rocks at government buildings and police.
A group of protesters attempted to storm the interior ministry building and Prime Minister Edi Rama's office.
An interior ministry statement said at least 10 people requested medical assistance, newspaper Gazeta Shqip reported.
One policeman suffered a serious eye injury and was undergoing surgery.
Several police cars were destroyed in the riot and the Christmas tree in front of the government complex.
On Tuesday, a police officer fatally shot Klodian Rasha, who violated the curfew implemented to combat the spread of coronavirus.
The officer claims Rasha was armed.
Protesters on Wednesday carried banners reading "down with the dictatorship," "I am Klodian" and "justice for Klodian," and called for Interior Minister Sander Lleshaj's resignation.
Rama is currently on a visit to the United States.
He earlier tweeted that he had met with Pfizer officials to secure coronavirus vaccines for Albania.
