Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was hit by two vehicles and killed on the Great Western Highway at Springwood yesterday (Wednesday, February 24).
Emergency services were called to the highway near the Long Tan (Hawkesbury Road) Bridge about 12.45pm.
The male pedestrian was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died before arrival to hospital.
Police have been informed that the pedestrian was hit by two separate vehicles travelling in an easterly direction.
The first vehicle has been described as either white or silver in colour possibly a small SUV or hatchback-style vehicle. This vehicle did not stop after the collision and the driver is being asked to come forward.
The second vehicle was a silver Toyota Corolla being driven by a 21-year-old woman. She was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.
The death of the pedestrian is not being treated as suspicious.
