There was much interest in voluntary assisted dying laws in Springwood today at the Dying with Dignity NSW stall in the square next to Priceline.
The information stall is part of a campaign to ramp up publicity before the introduction of a bill in NSW parliament later this year.
Victoria and Western Australia now have laws that allow a terminally ill person to get a doctor's help to end their life. Just 10 days ago, Tasmania joined with its own legislation.
Queensland is highly likely to have such a law later this year, and South Australia is about to debate a bill.
In NSW, Alex Greenwich, Independent Member for Sydney, plans to introduce a bill some time this year.
The Dying with Dignity group will have another stall at Katoomba, on the walkway between Katoomba St and Coles on Tuesday, April 6. Drop by between 10am and 2pm to ask any questions, get information leaflets and/or to sign a petition supporting the legislation.
