Multi-talented local musician Andy Busuttil and his well-loved Asylum combo will present a fundraising concert for Blue Mountains Refugee Support Group at the Lawson Mechanics
Institute Hall on Sunday, June 27, at 2pm.
Busuttil's arrangements of traditional songs from countries including Malta, Lebanon, Ireland and the Middle East always attract enthusiastic audiences. As an added attraction the concert will begin with an appearance by Rinchen Dorjee, a Tibetan musician living in Katoomba, who will play mandolin and sing an Amdo Donglin, traditional music from Tibet.
The refugee support group has an ever-increasing need for funds to assist families paying high rents, for food vouchers, and urgent legal fees for visa applications, said Brendan Doyle from the management committee.
Because of COVID restrictions which limit numbers, he recommended people book tickets in advance with Humanitix at https://events.humanitix.com/concert-asylum/tickets. Prices are: Adults $35, concession $25, children five and over $10. Afternoon tea by donation.
