A Lane Cove-based company has won the tender for the Springwood Library upgrade.
Six Sydney companies bid for the works with HPAC Pty Ltd rated number one in its price competitiveness, with a tender offer of $2,507,229.
The design for the library includes a modified reception area, new family history and local studies areas, lounge, study areas and new stairs and accessible lift.
Most of the alterations will be within the existing footprint with a small extension to the south (overlooking the rear carpark) for the new lift and stairs. The southern facade will also have full height glass panels to take in the views and allow more natural light.
Council voted to accept the tender. The upgrade is expected to be completed by June next year.
