An online gamer who coached video game players to use them to collect parcels containing illicit goods has been jailed for six years.
The 27-year-old Malaysian national from Melbourne was one of two gamers jailed for their role in importing ephedrine into Australia.
The other gamer, who was recruited via the platform, was also sentenced to two years jail.
Australian Border Force officers initially found ephedrine hidden in fitness massage rollers which led to an investigation into the illegal importing of the drug.
Next they found ephedrine hidden in bluetooth speakers.
Commander Chris Holzheimer noted the expertise of ABF officers in the detection of illicit goods.
"If criminals have thought of it, chances are we have seen it," he said in a statement on Monday.
