Sporting groups have been urged to put their hand up for a fresh slice of government funding.
Under the Local Sports Grants program, clubs and organisations can apply for funds a range of purposes, including new equipment and facility improvements.
Penrith MP Stuart Ayres said successful applicants would share in $50,000 allocated to his state electorate.
The maximum to be paid out to any one body is $20,000.
The MP said groups to share in last year's funding locally were: Penrith Valley Canoeing, Nepean Hockey Association, Glenbook Panthers Men's Bowling, Emu Plains Cricket Club and Kingswood Sports.
"These grants will help local clubs increase participation by addressing barriers, delivering sports development programs and upgrading equipment and facilities," Mr Ayres said.
"I know how important sport is to the community right across Penrith, especially as the state emerges from lockdown."
Applications are now open and close at 1pm on Friday, November 19.
Funds will also be allocated to groups in other state electorates.
