The dolls can attract eye-watering price tags with extra value for mint condition and rare editions.
A pre-owned 1959 Barbie doll is listed for $9000 on eBay by a seller in Melbourne.
While a Barbie released to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee is listed by various US sellers for between $1000 and $7500.
More recent Barbie releases still in their box are on offer for hundreds of dollars.
