A man has spent 36 hours stuck in a stormwater drain after trying to recover his phone.
Emergency services were called to a drain on Castlebar St in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane at 11am on March 25.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews lifted the drain to free the man from the underground system.
The man in his 30s was taken to Mater Hospital in a stable condition for abrasions and exposure to the cold, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said.
He told the emergency crews he had become stuck about 36 hours earlier while trying to retrieve his phone, the spokesperson said.
It's understood he was seen by a local resident in the drain the day before his rescue but said he was fine.
When the same resident saw him again the next day he made the call to emergency services for help.
